Mission Sunday with Pr. Eric Reiker and his congregation on Transfiguration Celebration, 2015
Feb 15, 2015 was Transfiguration Sunday and also a Mission Sunday celebration with Pr. Eric Reiker's congregation- St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Incarnation in Pompton Lakes, NJ. Pr. Reiker and his congregation have been big supporters of our Christian Education and VBS outreach to the children in Newark. Pr. Reiker has been involved and led worship and Catechism classes for the children since first helping in 2012.
We had a good fellowship time, reflected on Pr. Reiker's recent visit to the Holy Sites in Israel and prayerfully considered how God might use us together in ministry this year. Please join with me in praising God for Pr. Reiker and his mission minded congregation.
One of our new outreach approaches is the food pantry we are starting by God's grace in Newark. It is our hope to connect with the families in the community; building on relationships established through previous outreaches. Please keep this in your prayers also.
